Abstract-Objective is a series of photographs of household objects that can also be read, in varying degrees, as abstract compositions. They were created entirely in-camera, without staging, cropping or retouching. Most make use of movement but some are a hundred per cent documentary. All are presented as taken, in colour, on a hand-held, entry-level, digital camera with a standard 18-55mm lens.

The photographs were all shot over the course of 15 months in 2015 and 2016. All lighting was ‘found’ in-situ, and was generated by street lamps, domestic lights, electrical appliances and natural daylight. No additional lighting was used.
