The photographs in this portfolio are all presented in negative. This abstraction helps to highlight shapes, textures, patterns and structures that are not immediately apparent in the original pictures, due to the way we read representational images and relate them to the world around us.

The photographs in this series were shot over the course of 14 months between 2018 and 2019. Aside from the simple process of colour inversion, all the pictures were created entirely in-camera, without staging, cropping or retouching. They were taken in colour, on a hand-held, entry-level, digital camera with a standard 18-55mm lens, and without any artificial lighting.
