I worked with the University of Glasgow as part of its Framework for Graphic Design between 2009 and 2017. During that time, I produced a wide range of designs for clients across the institution, including communication campaigns, brochures, reports, newsletters, leaflets, display materials and maps.
In all cases, my role was to work with the University’s brand guidelines as they developed – applying them consistently but also imaginatively; keeping up to date with contemporary trends while maintaining the University’s distinctive brand voice.
Research Briefing: Music for Integration This 8-page A4 report was designed to provide school teachers with a summary of academic research into the use of music as a tool for social integration. I used visuals and blocks of colour to make the document accessible to a wide audience.
Events Programme: Gaelic Language & Cultural Events I designed this 12-page A5 dual-language booklet to promote a programme of Gaelic language events at the University.
Welcome Pack: You’re Almost Here… This pack was aimed at applicants on the point of making their final choice of university. It consisted of a folder and five inserts in a specially branded envelope that was designed to stand out when it dropped through the letterbox.
6-Panel Brochure: Recruiting the Best One of the first projects I designed for the University, this brochure was aimed at international businesses. It emphasised the quality of the University’s graduates, and highlighted ways that potential employers could connect with them.
